The problem
A machining company producing brackets was losing cycle time to frequent tool changes and inconsistent surface finish on the finishing pass.

What we changed
The finishing operation moved to a different flute geometry and coating combination, and cutting data was adjusted to keep chip load inside a stable range.
The result
Cycle time came down and tool changes became predictable, so the line could be scheduled without buffer stock of tools.
